Many people find the thought of purchasing their first home quite intimidating. However, it does not need to be complicated or expensive. There are many programs designed to help get you into your first home -- from lower down payments (as low as 5% in some cases), first time homebuyer education seminars, to a real estate agent who will be with you throughout the process.
To get you started, I've included just a few of the many tools and resources that we will use to help build your home ownership plan - To understand whether you're better off renting or owning, try the Rent vs. Buy calculator. It'll give you a sense of both the short-term and the long-term costs and benefits of home ownership.
- If you've decided that purchasing is for you, try the How Much Can I Afford? calculator. Based on your current income and debt levels, it'll show you the price range you should target.
You can also browse current listings or current bank rates for more information about the Boston real estate market.
